Yonatan completed his undergraduate degree at Brock University where he achieved his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology and Sociology and Minor in Philosophy. While at Brock University, he focused his studies on forensic psychology, and completed his undergraduate thesis in victim selection. Yonatan attended Osgoode Hall Law School where he obtained his Juris Doctorate (JD). As a law student, Yonatan was a Criminal Law Division Leader at Osgoode’s legal clinic called Community and Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP). At CLASP, he provided legal services to low-income individuals charged with criminal offences (e.g., assault, uttering threats, theft) and gained invaluable experience conducting trials and sentencing hearings.

Yonatan is one of the trial lawyers in our firm. He has experience representing clients charged with very serious offences, including but not limited to murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, firearms, drug trafficking, criminal organization, human trafficking, and sexual assaults. Yonatan primarily handles cases that are very serious and complex, including cases involving confidential informants, search warrants, wiretaps, and “Project” cases. He has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Yonatan has successfully argued applications alleging breaches to his client’s Charter rights, including unlawful search and seizure, arbitrary detention, and excessive force.
